Feedback from the Industry
Open to receive expert feedback
By establishing feedback loops between technology/specification development experts, open-source software developers, users and the wider industry, we:
-
increase the quality and reliability of technical specifications towards developers and the industry
-
Improve specifications and fix potential bugs by continuous input from the community.
-
ensure that specification evolve rapidly while reducing issues at an early development stage.
-
learn by doing to foster consensus on technical approaches and drive specification writing

In addition, with feedback from the 5G-MAG Reference Tools community of developers we ensure code quality and compliance with specifications by an early implementation and detection of issues within the open-source community.

5G-MAG has established multiple processes to gather and structure feedback on specifications,. These are the processes in place:
5G-MAG Workgroups also welcome feedback from the industry on certain publications aimed at improving their quality and relevance. The following process is in place:
FEEDBACK ON TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS MAINTAINED BY EXTERNAL SDOs
How does it work?
-
Any expert, in particular 5G-MAG Reference Tools Developers, can raise issues in GitHub against relevant specifications. This may include comments, bug-fixing, requests for new features, etc.
-
5G-MAG Technical Workgroups in collaboration with the relevant SDO Working Group review the feedback and decide whether to adopt or drop the issue.
-
