What is 5G Multicast Broadcast Services?
We recommend having a look at the following explainer which factually explains what 5G Multicast Broadcast Services is and the features from the 3GPP specifications that support it.

5G-MAG Explainer
3GPP Release 17 brings Multicast–Broadcast Services (MBS) to the 5G System, based on 5G Core and New Radio. MBS allows the network to select the most suitable among point-to-multipoint (PTM) or point-to-point (PTP) delivery based on requirements set by either service providers or network operators and/or taking into account concurrent user demand.
What can be improved? Time and Frequency Interleaving
3GPP system can be improved following the 3GPP pace, which means adhering to the process in which each Release is defined and completed. There is always a chance to introduce new work items to address new feature or to fix issues.
Time and Frequency Interleaving for broadcast services in 3GPP Systems
5G-MAG Report
Time and Frequency Interleaving (TFI) is a key feature for robust broadcast transmissions in time-frequency varying environments, in particular for mobile reception. TFI was considered and evaluated by multiple companies during the 3GPP Rel-16 standardisation of LTE-based 5G Broadcast with significant support from companies. Furthermore, time interleaving has also been proposed for NR MBS Broadcast Services in 3GPP Rel-17.
