GENERAL INFORMATION AND SCOPE
5G-MAG would like to define the roadmap for the 5G-MAG Reference Tools development programme in 2023 in close contact with the industry and the community of developers.
Input is key to foster a market-oriented implementation of use cases and applications into the 5G-MAG Reference Tools.
Some initial 3GPP Rel-16 features are available, but roadmap planning for 2023 is now ongoing.
What we intend to do:
-
Provide an overview of media-centric 5G technologies and features in 3GPP Rel-16 & Rel-17
-
Drive the implementation of market-oriented use cases and applications into the 5G-MAG Reference Tools 2023 development roadmap by:
-
Creating use cases / scenarios that make use of the features and the reference tools expected to be implemented and showcased
-
Evaluating implementation efforts and prioritize use cases based on member support, interest and feasibility
-
-
Communicate the roadmap to the developer and public community.
How we want to proceed:
-
A series of calls (from June to September)
-
Request for new use-cases + open discussion on GitHub
-
Identification of features and potential development efforts
All the necessary steps to participate are explained below together with instructions to take part in the calls and the proposed homework.
