- New Releases! - 5G Multicast Broadcast Services Transport Function (MBSTF)
We are very happy to announce the release of version 1.0.0 of the MBS Transport Function for 5MBS User Services . Version 1.0.0 is the first minimum viable product release of the MBSTF that forms part of the 5MBS User Services. We are working on a separate release of the MBS Function which will control this MBSTF and act as the provisioning entry point for 5MBS User Services. This release can be configured, via the Nmb2 reference point (MBSF <=> MBSTF), with DistSession s that use the PUSH or PULL acquisition methods for the SINGLE and STREAMING distribution operating modes. The STREAMING distribution operating mode can only cope with live profile DASH manifests in this release. The repository can be found at: https://github.com/5G-MAG/rt-mbs-transport-function The release including the release notes can be found here: https://github.com/5G-MAG/rt-mbs-transport-function/releases/tag/rt-mbs-transport-function-1.0.0 A detailed tutorial and a demo video can be found on our documentation website: https://5g-mag.github.io/Getting-Started/pages/5g-multicast-broadcast-services/tutorials.html Information on the overall project is hosted here: 5G Multicast Broadcast Services | 5G-MAG - Reference Tools A big thank you to all the contributors of the 5G-MAG Reference Tools. In particular the colleagues from BBC R&D: David Waring, Dev Audsin and Richard Bradbury. This reference implementation of the MBSTF interworks with previous work developed by colleagues from iTEAM-UPV: Borja Iñesta and Jaime Sanchez, with the support of Daniel Silhavy (Fraunhofer FOKUS and 5G-MAG Reference Tools Developer Coordinator).

- New Releases! - 5G Media Streaming Application Function, Application Server and Docker Compose recipe
We are happy to announce new releases of the 5G Media Streaming Architecture. We have released version 1.4.3 of the 5GMS Application Function and version 1.2.4 of the 5GMS Application Server which both uplift the implemented interfaces to match 3GPP TS 26.512 V17.10.0. The new release of the 5GMS AF can be found at: https://github.com/5G-MAG/rt-5gms-application-function/releases/tag/rt-5gms-application-function-v1.4.3 The new release of the 5GMS AS can be found at: https://github.com/5G-MAG/rt-5gms-application-server/releases/tag/rt-5gms-application-server-1.2.4 These releases are already supported in our Docker Compose recipe for 5G Media Streaming announced last week. This contains an Application Function , an Application Server and the Application Provider management UI. The Docker based setup can be found on Github: https://github.com/5G-MAG/rt-5gms-examples/tree/main/5gms-docker-setup . An end to end setup guide can be found in our tutorial section: https://github.com/5G-MAG/rt-5gms-examples/tree/main/5gms-docker-setup Thank you to all the contributors of the reference tools and in the context of 5G Media Streaming especially David Waring ( BBC ), Dev Audsin ( BBC ), Richard Bradbury ( BBC ), Shilin Ding ( Qualcomm ), Thomas Stockhammer ( Qualcomm ), Vuk Stojkovic, Kurt Krauss ( Dolby Laboratories ), Giuseppe Crisci ( Dolby Laboratories ) and Jordi Joan Giménez ( 5G-MAG Media Action Group ) More documentation available at developer.5g-mag.com and https://5g-mag.github.io/Getting-Started/
- New Releases! - 5G Multicast Broadcast Services (MBS)
We are happy to announce the first release of 5G Multicast Broadcast Services (MBS) as part of the 5G-MAG Reference Tools. This release provides reference implementations of an MB-UPF, MB-SMF as extensions of the UPF and SMF of the Open5GS project. In addition it provides an initial implementation of AMF, gNB and UE with MBS. A simple AF/AS allows testing the setup. A tutorial is provided here: Initial MBS support in the 5GC | 5G-MAG - Reference Tools This initial functionalities of MBS support in the 5G Core, RAN and UE are complemented by Docker images and Docker Compose deployments to test the whole setup. This is a contribution from Borja Iñesta Hernández and Jaime Sánchez Roldán , from Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) to the 5G-MAG Reference Tools. Access the project information here: 5G Multicast Broadcast (MBS)
- New Releases! - XR Player, Blender Exporter, Media Pipelines in Android
We are happy to announce new releases of our XR projects supporting reference implementation of MPEG-I Standards (ISO/IEC 23090). This time we provide updates to two repositories: XR Unity Player: This release introduces media pipeline support on Android, enabling features like video textures and spatial audio sources . A significant change is that the Packages/rt.xr.maf package is no longer a pre-compiled dependency via a git submodule . Instead, it now requires compilation from source , and the resulting build artifacts must be manually copied to the project. The majority of the implementation for this release resides in the media pipelines repository , which contains the core Media Access Function (MAF) library and its associated media pipeline plugins. Blender Exporter: This release introduces initial support for defining and exporting XR anchors as MPEG_anchor glTF extensions . The Blender exporter now allows defining various trackable types, including floor, viewer, controller, plane, 2D markers, geo markers, and application anchors . These exported scenes are compatible with the latest XR Player application , and the addon is compatible with the latest Blender LTS release . Access the release information through the following links: https://github.com/5G-MAG/rt-xr-unity-player/releases https://github.com/5G-MAG/rt-xr-blender-exporter/releases This is a contribution from Nils Duval building on the work started by Qualcomm and InterDigital. Access the project information here: https://5g-mag.github.io/Getting-Started/pages/xr-media-integration-in-5g/
- New Releases! - UE Data Collection, Exposure and Event Reporting
