Daniel Silhavy, 5G-MAG Reference Tools Development Coordinator, was invited to participate at "The Video Insiders" podcast #77 with the title "MPEG-DASH is in your cache".
In his role as lead developer of dash.js, he talks about the latest developments in MPEG-DASH and the dash.js reference player implementation, including MPD patching, multi-period playback and Common Media Client Data (CMCD). On the 5G-MAG Reference Tools side, he explained the current work to implement reference tools for media streaming and broadcast over 5G, and how it enables combining broadcast streams with unicast streams for applications such as personalized advertising, multi-lingual support and multiple camera angles.
