This joint workshop explores how to measure and optimize energy consumption in media streaming, with a particular focus on 5G and 6G systems. Experts from operators, standards bodies, industry and academia will discuss:

  • Ongoing 3GPP work on energy measurement and exposure
  • The challenges of measuring energy consumption in cloud environments
  • Encoding efficiency and its impact on end-to-end energy use
  • Emerging IETF work relevant to energy-aware media delivery
  • Reference tools and prototypes for building energy-aware solutions

The workshop is co-organized by 5G-MAG together with 3GPP SA4 and Greening of Streaming, bringing together the standards and open-source sides of the conversation in one session.
